[Q&A] Regarding gem update

Hello, this is DancingBear, striving to bring you best service.

My next message will take place once we manage to improve Mad World, make significant updates, and show you communications that really matter. Until then, we will continue to do our best in improvements.

Starting this August, we’d like to collect questions from you and get feedback at least twice per month, with reply updates through various means including our official website.

So first of all, please take your time to send us questions and feedback frequently. We’d like to apologize for ambiguous feedback and communication. In the meantime, allow me to discuss the gem updates.

of opinions and feedback on gems, so I’d like to share them all in the way they are (meaning every detail and purpose of the updates and applications made ingame, whether they are good/bad or right/wrong).



■ Were the gem drop rates adjusted?

▶ Yes, they were.


■ How were they adjusted?

1) For common monsters:

▶ There will be new gems (for DEF, support; cheap) available along with preexisting gems (for ATK; expensive). Based on our statistics, these gems are rather few in number.

▶ Preexisting gems will appear rather occasionally compared to the original drop rate.

▶ Gems with the best efficiency will have low value.


2) Abyssal meteors

▶ Abyssal meteors will provide more gems, with higher drop rate and greater chances for you to find gems.

▶ The value range is less versatile.


▶ With details from 1) and 2) in consideration, both the preexisting gems and new gems will be given higher chances of discovery.

▶ However, depending on the area you are in and your circumstances, preexisting gems will be given lower chances of discovery.


■ Wasn’t the purpose of gems to prevent players from using too much cash?

▶ Yes and no.

▶ The monetary questions were not our initial purpose placed in gems.

▶ Gems were part of our plan for nurturing aid for new users, refinement in features for character defense, Abyssal meteors, and reviving the field environment. In other words, they were added not simply because we wanted gems.

▶ During our gem adjustments, we found how it was rather difficult to provide more chances of gem discovery. So we added new features for gems that will not shadow the features that were already there.

▶ Although we considered adjusting smelting chances/price for gems, we decided to adjust their values, since we determined adjusting conditions for using gems will create more problems.


▶ The following are our guidelines in adjusting gems.

▶ Allow all players to enjoy the game.

▶ Make them matter in helping players/mobs.

▶ Make them more available.

▶ Allow high-leveled players to help low-leveled players, allowing the latter to find benefits in the game (guaranteeing the basic benefit of mob gameplay).

▶ Make them available from Abyssal meteors (as intended in the CBT) and provided according to special ingame races (this part was not applied; we are currently working on it).

▶ Add defense-type and support-type and thus allow more choices in nurturing.

▶ Provide environment in which upper-class gems and special gems will be provided in the future.

▶ Provide a variety of special elements that influence nurturing, along with new contents updates.

▶ Refrain from changing the original price.


▶ Issues discovered during improvement

▶ The gem price (as gold) was too high.

▶ The value of the gems may seem problematic as their drop rates are raised, and as the players are more encouraged to hunt for gems.


▶ Improvements

▶ Allow everyone who took part in Abyssal meteors raid to gain rewards, just like with field bosses and Ancient Bosses.

▶ Make gems from Abyssal meteors more useful.

▶ Make Abyssal meteors an appropriate contents encouraging multi-player format and mob gameplay.

▶ Make Abyssal meteors more frequent occurrences and more fun (future improvements for the purpose of entertainment contents planned).

▶ Allow players to gain greater number of gems than before and turn them into higher-classed gems in the future.

▶ Make gems more available without causing huge changes in the ingame economy.

▶ Make gems more frequently found in fields, to raise the importance of making field environment more active.

▶ Raise the amount of gems acquirable, along with the chances for character nurturing.





Starting August, we will make pre-notice on update purpose/direction in order to gain previous knowledge of the issues you might experience ingame. And we will do our best to apply all of your feedback within the game.
